For visiting boats
The Michiel de Ruijterhaven lies in the middle of Vlissingen on the Westerschelde, in the old harbour where Michiel de Ruyter once kept his ships and the fishing fleet later moored; it has been a marina since 1989. It is well sheltered, with finger-pontoon boxes for about 90 resident boats and hundreds of visitors in summer; shops, the promenade and the beach are within walking distance. Mind the two sills in the entrance and the flood lock at NAP −3.30 m: from about 2 h before to 2 h after low water there can be less than 1.80 m, sometimes under 1 m. The harbour master gives the current depth on request and booking ahead is advised. Free wifi.
