For visiting boats
The South Harbour, Heligoland's harbour of refuge, holds the pontoons of the Wassersportclub Helgoland, with the clubhouse right next to them. The island has no marina: the club lets members' free berths to visiting sailors, mainly from friendly clubs. The eastern part of the pontoons counts as foul ground – a U-boat bunker stood here until 1945 and its rubble still shows at low water – so come in only after arranging it in advance and with a member guiding you in. Electricity is from coin posts; there is no drinking water on the pontoons; diesel is at the fuel berth in the inner harbour.
