FOR COAST GUARDS, RESCUE CENTRES & SEA-RESCUE SERVICES
Your number, exactly as you publish it
VesselSOS is a free safety app for recreational boaters. When a boater needs help, it shows — and dials — the rescue centre responsible for their position, with their coordinates and what to say on screen. It covers 187 rescue centres in 118 countries and territories. We are not a rescue service and no call ever passes through us: the phone dials your number directly.
How we publish your number
- We use only what you tell the public to call — from your own website, quoted word for word, with the link and the date we read it.
- Where you ask people to call the national emergency number and ask for the coastguard, that is what the app does.
- A local short number that may not connect from a foreign SIM is shown, but the app dials your full international number.
- Every number is re-checked every week by a script that opens the cited page; changes are listed publicly in our change log.
Something wrong or out of date?
Write to support@vesselsos.com with the page link and the correct number. We correct the website within 24 hours and the app in its next update, and record the change in the change log. If you prefer a different number to be shown first, tell us which and why — your instruction wins.
Free for you to use
- A widget for your website or your partners' (clubs, marinas, charter companies): the right number for your waters, kept up to date.
- Open data (CC BY 4.0): every centre, number, area and source as JSON and CSV.
- A printable emergency card for boats, in your waters' number.
- Emergency guides built only from official safety advice, with sources.
Working together
If your service runs safety campaigns, a boater check-in scheme or volunteer crews, we are happy to link to them, carry your safety messages in the app's language for your waters, or share anonymised, aggregate data on where boaters sail. Write to support@vesselsos.com.
