Asia: who to call at sea

Last verified:

Most Asian countries have their own number for emergencies at sea: 1465 in Thailand (Thai Maritime Enforcement Command Center), 115 in Indonesia (Basarnas), 118 in Japan and Taiwan (the coast guards). South Korea’s Coast Guard tells the public to call 119.

112 is not the standard here. In Malaysia and Hong Kong 999 is the national number; in the Philippines 911. Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority publishes two 24-hour lines of its own.
