For visiting boats

Marina de Portimão lies on the west bank of the Arade estuary next to Praia da Rocha, between the Santa Catarina and São João do Arade forts, behind one of Portugal's safest bars and sheltered from the prevailing winds. It has 620 berths for short and long stays, for boats up to 50 m and 4 m draught, with water and 16/32/63 A power; the bar has 8.5 m depth and the quay 4 m. The boatyard on the east bank of the Arade has 50 t and 300 t travel lifts (catamarans up to 9 m beam), and there is a fuel berth, a crane by reception and a pump-out that is free for stays over one day. Blue Flag since 2000; the Iate Clube Marina de Portimão is based here.
