For visiting boats
The Darsena Medicea is the old Medici harbour in the historic centre of Portoferraio on Elba, run by the town-owned company Cosimo de Medici. It has 70 berths for boats up to 70 m with up to 6.5 m depth; visitor berths are five in summer (15 June–15 September) and three the rest of the year. Every berth has water and power, there is wifi, a heated service block with hot showers, a self-service laundry and a petrol and diesel pump. Bars, restaurants and the covered market for provisioning are right round the basin; call on VHF channel 9.
