For visiting boats

Wik sport harbour lies in the north of Kiel just south of the Holtenau locks of the Kiel Canal, next to the home berth of the 'Gorch Fock' and the Seglervereinigung Kiel clubhouse. Nearly 200 berths in one basin entered from the south, 3 m depth, boats up to 14 m; there is a mast crane and a dinghy slipway, with power and water on the pontoons. A slight swell can build in a south-easterly; watch for submarines from the neighbouring Tirpitz naval harbour when entering. The city centre is about 5 km's walk along the fjord.
