Overview
Clube Naval de Cascais was founded in 1938 and sits on Cascais Bay next to the marina, with function rooms, gym, restaurant, library and its own landing quay opened in 2007. It has more than 800 members and Portugal's largest sailing school, running since 1950 and rated GOLD by the Portuguese Sailing Federation, which trains about 900 sailors a year in Optimist, Laser Pico and Bahia, ILCA, Hobie Cat and windsurfers, plus recreational skipper courses and a wing-foil academy. It is the Portuguese club with the most Olympic appearances, ever since 1948. It runs the J/70 and Dragon winter series and has hosted major international events such as the America's Cup World Series, the TP52 Worlds and the Finn Gold Cup.
