Overview
Oslo Seilforening was founded in 1886 and was first based in the Revier harbour below Akershus fortress; since 1926 the club has owned the island of Lille Herbern just off Bygdøynes, with a clubhouse, restaurant and marina. The club runs regattas in the inner Oslofjord, including the spring Bjørvikasprinten on 1 May with start and finish off the Opera House, club series and an autumn regatta for children and youth, and aims to host one national championship each season – the Albin Express nationals in 2026. The water-sports club for children sails Optimist, RS Feva and RS Quest, and there is windsurfing, youth training and a team in the Norwegian Sailing League.
