Overview
The Koninklijke Roei- en Zeilvereeniging De Maas in Rotterdam celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2026 and, with about 2,000 members, is one of the largest rowing and sailing clubs in the Netherlands. Its clubhouse stands on the Veerdam by the Maas; sailing is on the Kralingse Plas and rowing from the Rotte and from a river boathouse on the Plantagelaan, with a further marina in Zierikzee. The club has a big fleet of its own: over 30 Optimists, Lasers, RS Fevas, Valk keelboats, semi-foiling catamarans, boats for sailors with disabilities and about 140 rowing boats. It runs the IJsselmondetocht, the Rotte rowing competition and the annual cruising week Maas Buiten Gaats.
