Overview
Società Canottieri Orbetello, founded in 1889, is based at the former seaplane station on the eastern lagoon of Orbetello, facing the Feniglia sand spit. It is a rowing and sailing club in one, affiliated to both FIC and FIV: rowing courses start at age 9, sailing at 6, and the first sailing school on the Costa d'Argento started here in 1965. The lagoon hosted the 1966 Vaurien Worlds, and the club runs national and European championships with Sunfish Italia and Modelvela; its gym has rowing and paddling ergometers.
