Overview
Successor to the Société de la Voile d'Arcachon founded on 16 June 1882, the Cercle de la Voile d'Arcachon sails the Arcachon basin from the nautical centre on the Quai Goslar in Arcachon harbour, its home since 1991. A long-standing allied club of the Yacht Club de France, it was named École Française de Voile of the year for 2019. Its racers sail Open Skiffs, ILCAs and Europes, and the keelboat calendar runs some 25 events a year, single-handed, double-handed or crewed, including the 18 Heures d'Arcachon, born in 1969 as a 24-hour race, the inclusive Route de l'Huître and kite, wing and tiki events.
