Overview
Turun Pursiseura (TPS) was founded on 6 April 1906 as Pursiseura Maininki and took its present name in 1917. Its home and guest harbour is on Ruissalo island, and members have four island bases in the Archipelago Sea: Pyytinkari, Svinö, Hummelskär and Marholmsören. TPS is one of Finland’s largest race organisers – including the Gullkrona Two Star, the Pyytinkari race and the TPS Airisto Regatta – and runs one of the country’s largest and oldest sailing schools. Its junior programme holds the Star Club (Tähtiseura) badge and the harbour is a certified Roope harbour.
