Overview
Segelföreningen i Björneborg (BSF) was founded on 26 January 1856 and is the oldest sports club in Finland. Its home harbour is on Kallo at Mäntyluoto off Pori, beside the Kallo lighthouse, with a keelboat and dinghy harbour, boat sheds, the lighthouse sauna, showers and the club pavilion. BSF runs national and international events – most recently the 2024 H-boat World Championship, and the Snipe European Championship in 2006 and 2018 – plus a club evening series for keelboats. The BSF Academy teaches adults on 606s (sailing, mate and skipper courses) and runs a junior sailing school.
