Overview
Sønderborg Yacht-Club (SYC) was founded in 1904 and has about 560 members, with its clubhouse at Sønderborg marina at Østerhage. The club owns 49 sailing and support boats and offers a sailing school, a junior section for ages 7–20 with training two evenings a week, a cruising section, SUP and e-sailing. Since 1989 SYC has had an adaptive sailing section with Olsen Twin boats, 2.4mR keelboats, cranes and pontoons that give physically disabled sailors good access to the sport. The club runs Als Rundt Classic, with starts for cruisers, single-handers, two-handed, DH, ORC and multihulls, weekly evening racing, and fields teams in the Danish Sailing League.
