Overview
Kongelig Dansk Yachtklub (Royal Danish Yacht Club, KDY) is Denmark's oldest sailing club, founded in 1866 after a regatta in Nyborg. Its home is Tuborg Havn in Hellerup, which KDY owns and runs, and it also sails from Skovshoved and Rungsted, with sailing schools, youth centres and a talent centre. KDY runs one of the world's most active match-racing centres with DS-37s in Skovshoved and a fleet of club J/70s for club and league racing, and has won the Sailing Champions League twice. The club regularly hosts world and European championships – in 2025 among others the Junior 49er Worlds at Rungsted and the Knarr World Championship (IKC).
