Overview
Hellerup Sejlklub was founded on 25 September 1915 and has its clubhouse by Hellerup Havn on Paul Elvstrøms Plads, facing the Øresund. With about 950 members it is among Denmark's large sailing clubs, and its members have won Olympic medals from 1948 to 2016 – among the most Olympic medallists of any single sailing club. The club has one of Denmark's oldest junior sections with Optimists, dinghies and seven Ynglings, a large sailing school, evening racing and J/70s, and together with KDY and Skovshoved Sejlklub it runs the Kraftcenter Øst training centre. Each year it hosts events such as the J/70 Easter regatta, the Opti Cup, My Way Star and ranking events for E-jolle and ILCA.
