Overview
Ruder-Club Favorite Hammonia, known as 'Fari' after the cheer heard at regattas, was founded in Hamburg in 1854 and is one of the city's oldest and most traditional rowing clubs. Its boathouse lies near the Kennedy Bridge on the Outer Alster, and members row on the Alster, its side arms and the adjoining canals. With almost 800 members the club offers performance, recreational and masters rowing, a modern fleet, a weights and ergometer room, and beginners' courses for adults and juniors. Since 2021 it has had the inclusive rowing group 'FunFari', and it is a partner in the 'Inklusive Alster' network.
