Overview
The Yacht-Club Luzern was founded on 2 November 1941 and has had its clubhouse on the Churchill-Quai (Lidostrasse 8) at the Lucerne end of Lake Lucerne since 1967. Members rent buoys for larger boats, dinghies have shore spaces, and the club's own radio-controlled crane stands on the Alpenquai; the clubhouse with fireplace, bar, kitchen, changing rooms and showers is largely kept up by volunteer work. The club runs a series of regattas every year and aims to host one Swiss championship annually, sails in the Swiss Sailing Challenge League and has trained Optimist juniors for more than 50 years – children of non-members welcome.
