Overview
The Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano is based at the mouth of the Cassarate river on Lake Lugano and has been the centre of sailing on the lake for more than fifty years. With about 700 members it is one of Switzerland's largest sailing clubs, offering dry and wet berths, a sailing school for all ages and a busy calendar of club, national and international regattas. In 2026 it ran the Swiss Optimist Championship with about 120 young sailors and the Swiss 29er Championship, alongside its traditional end-of-summer regatta, the Coppa IBSA, and the Christmas Regatta.
