Overview
The Royal North Sea Yacht Club was founded in Ostend in 1946 by a group of Snipe and Papillon sailors and has grown into the racing club of the Belgian coast. Its marina of about 100 berths lies in the middle of town on the Montgomery Dock, the Churchillkaai and the Visserskaai, fifteen minutes' sail from the race area. It is home to Belgium's Dragon, J/24 and SB20 fleets and has its own crane up to 2 t. Every year it runs more than twenty regattas, including the Dover Strait Race, Ostend–Heligoland–Ostend, the Brugse Zot Cup and, with the KYCN, the Open Belgian Sailing Week.
