Overview
The Burgenländischer Yacht-Club was founded in 1955 and, with more than 400 members and over 100 berths, has its grounds and club restaurant in the bay of Rust on Lake Neusiedl. Its league team has won the Austrian Sailing League three times in a row, and club sailors have been European champions five times. The BYC runs the Roundabout, in which boats start from six harbours and each sail once round the lake (about 24.5 nm) – 96 boats in 2026 – as well as the BYC Club Trophy and a racing and training programme. Visitors follow the dredged channel used by the tour boats and moor alongside the masting-crane pontoon; at low water not all berths are usable.
