For visiting boats
Mem is the Göta Canal's gateway to the Baltic at the inner end of Slätbaken – boats from the east meet their first lock here, and the canal was inaugurated here in 1832 by King Karl XIV Johan. The guest harbour lies inside Mem lock with 25 berths on Y-booms and buoys, 8 power points and a service building with toilets, showers and laundry. The restored harbour warehouse holds a guesthouse, café and restaurant, and at the canal office you check in and can buy charts, lines and fenders.

- Check-in: moor at the quay outside the lock and walk to the canal office. In high season the canal ticket can be bought on the spot; in early and late season ticket and convoy slot must be booked 5 days ahead. Outside the lock there is a simple quay for an overnight stop before check-in. 8 power points, 6 A. With a canal ticket, 5 nights in each guest harbour on the stretch you paid for are included, with power, water, showers, toilets, laundry and septic pump-out; extra nights are bought from the lock keeper. No booking – drop in, first come first served. A service card from the lock keeper gives access to the guest-harbour facilities.
