For visiting boats
Waddenhaven Texel is the visitor harbour of Oudeschild, on the Wadden Sea side of Texel, built in the former cooling-water basin of the old island power station. It has 250 independent berths along the pontoons, each with its own finger pier, so you never raft up; pontoons are arranged by boat length. At low water there is on average about 2.40 m. Entering under sail is not allowed. From Den Helder it is about an hour across the Texelstroom (leave about 2 h after LW Den Helder), from Den Oever via the Gat van de Stier 2 to 2.5 hours. Power, water, toilets/showers and wifi are free; at the fuel pontoon you get diesel and petrol and can pump out bilge and black water for free. The Blue Flag has flown here since 2003.
