For visiting boats
Schiermonnikoog marina at the Oude Veerdam is a quiet harbour in the middle of the National Park, within walking distance of the village, with about 90 visitor berths on five pontoons (some 120 including the island sailing club). It is a trip for those who know the Wadden: from Lauwersoog (about 5 miles) leave 2 hours before HW Lauwersoog, and more than 1.40 m draught is not advised. The Reegeul dries at low water and the entrance is narrow: pass between the red R28 and the green buoy; outgoing boats have right of way. At the start of the season the harbour has about 1 m at low water; deeper keels sit partly in soft mud. Water and power are free, and there are showers, washer and dryer, wifi and the Wad Anderz restaurant.

- Contact the harbour master beforehand (VHF 31 or phone). No harbour master after 19:00: find a spot and report the next day. No facilities after 1 November; do not moor north of pontoon 5 (island club). You can dry out on the east side of the Oude Veerdam.
