For visiting boats
Fowey Harbour is the deep, sheltered estuary of the River Fowey on the south Cornish coast, between the towns of Fowey and Polruan. Fowey Harbour Commissioners manage it, looking after about 1,500 resident moorings and welcoming some 6,000 visiting yachts and motor cruisers a year. Visitors use blue swinging moorings, several visitor pontoons and shore-linked pontoons with water and power. A fuel pontoon sells diesel and petrol around the clock at all states of tide. Showers are at the Royal Fowey Yacht Club, Fowey Gallants Sailing Club and Penmarlam, and the harbour also offers hoist, storage and boat services.
- Guest berths
- Call Fowey Harbour Patrol on VHF 12 as you enter for advice on moorings. Visitor swinging moorings are blue and lie along the east side of the lower harbour, with three more at Wisemans Reach. There are visitor pontoons in the mouth of Pont Pill, at Underhills and at Grid Irons, and berths on the shore-linked Penmarlam pontoon at Mixtow. Berrills Yard pontoon can be used overnight from 16:00 to 08:00. Moorings are not pre-booked except for rallies and events, but boats over 20 m should give notice. The speed limit is 6 knots. Diesel and petrol are sold at a pay-at-pump fuel pontoon above the Bodinnick ferry, open 24/7 at all states of tide. The pump-out is at Berrills Yard.
