For visiting boats
Sæby Havn lies on the east coast of Vendsyssel about 12 km south of Frederikshavn and is owned by Frederikshavn municipality, with an outer harbour, inner harbour and south harbour. It can be entered by day and night and is generally easy and safe to approach, but drifting sand makes the depths in the entrance and outer harbour variable, and sandbanks can form in and outside the channel – take care in heavy weather. The current is mainly north-going; gales from west to north can raise the water up to 1.5 m, from south to east lower it by up to 1 m. Water is included in the harbour dues, and there are showers, toilets, laundry, free Wi-Fi, diesel by the lifeboat station, a slipway and a mast crane. The harbour office is open daily 08–20 in high season, and the old market town is right next to the harbour.
