Overview
The Turkish Offshore Racing Club (TAYK) was founded on 8 May 1971 by the racing yachtsmen of the day to run yacht races under international rules and bring international rating systems to Turkey; "Türkiye" was added to its name in 1993. Its oldest event is the Turkish Navy Cup international yacht race, in its 55th year in 2026, alongside the 30 August Cup and its spring and winter cups. In 2000 it started the Aegean "Friendship Cup" with the Nautical Club of Thessaloniki. It handles IRC rating in Turkey and has about 150 yacht-owner members.
