Overview
Tekirdağ Sailing Club was founded in November 1986 as the Tekirdağ Sailing Club Sports Association; sailing in the town had begun in 1952 with Sharpie and Pirat dinghies. It has run a summer school since 1986, with two-week terms for ages 6–12 and 13–16 in Optimists and ILCAs, plus adult courses from first steps to offshore yachting and training for the Turkish amateur skipper certificate. It runs the Tekirdağ Trophy and the international Rodosto/Süleymanpaşa Cup, and hosted the 50th Balkan Championship in 2017.
