Overview
Marmaris International Yacht Club (MIYC) was founded in 1992 by a group of Marmaris sailors and runs one of the busiest race calendars in the eastern Mediterranean. Its oldest event is Marmaris International Race Week, sailed since 1989 and drawing more than 100 boats and 1,000 sailors a year; alongside it come the Winter Trophy (January–April), the International Mediterranean Yacht Championship for IRC boats, the Loryma Cup stage race, the Channel Regatta linking the Turkish and Greek coasts, and the Hemithea Regatta. Its summer sailing school runs two-week courses for Optimists (ages 6–11) and ILCA (ages 12–16).
