Overview
Stenungsund Sailing Club was founded in 1964 and runs Tjörn Runt, one of Sweden's biggest yacht races, sailed clockwise round Tjörn from Stenungsund in mid-August. The club sails on Hakefjorden between Stenungsön and the mainland, where the sailing school – certified by the Swedish Sailing Federation since 2009 – takes children, adults and sailors with disabilities in Access dinghies. The season opens with the Liros Nordic Race dinghy regatta in April, and the keelboat fleet sails the Pater Noster Race to Skärhamn.
