Overview
Gefle Sailing Club was founded on 27 February 1880 and is one of Sweden's oldest sailing clubs. Its harbour, clubhouse and restaurant are on Huseliiharen in Engesbergsviken, five nautical miles north-east of Gävle near the Bönan fishing village. Over the years the club has run major regattas, Swedish and world championships; today it has racing, a team in the Swedish Sailing League and the Wild Waves sailing school for children, juniors and adults, mainly in the RS Tera.
