Overview
Sopot Sailing Club was founded in 1983 by windsurfers and is now Poland's largest board-sailing club. From the beach in Sopot on the Gulf of Gdańsk it trains Techno293, iQFOiL, wing foil, kite (Formula Kite), Open Skiff and SUP squads; it has about 200 members, more than 100 of them racing. Club sailors have competed at the Olympics since 1992 and have won over 150 Polish championship medals. The base, rebuilt in 2003, has sheds for about 400 boards, changing rooms and showers, a gym, a hotel with restaurant and a WOPR lifeguard station.
