Overview
Klub Żeglarski "Halny" from Bielsko-Biała, founded in 1967 as a branch of the PTTK tourist society, is the oldest active sailing club in the Podbeskidzie region; since 1994 it has been an independent association. It has the largest harbour on Lake Żywieckie, in a sheltered bay at Zarzecze. As a licensed PZŻ school with twenty instructors it trains about 150 people a year for the yacht-sailor and skipper licences, runs offshore cruises (also on the Zawisza Czarny) and regattas: the season-opening Fox Hunt, a summer event with Polish Cup races for Optimist and Omega, the Indian Summer regatta and a boat-swap race to close the season.
