Overview
Jacht Klub Wielkopolski, founded on 18 August 1933 as the Poznań Yacht Club, is one of Poland's oldest sailing clubs, with its harbour on Lake Kierskie in Poznań opened in 1934. The club trains children and youth in Optimists and ILCAs, and its crews also race Topcat catamarans at world championships. Since 1978 it has run the national Srebrny Żagiel Optimista (Optimist Silver Sail) regatta – the 49th edition in 2026 – and in 2026 it hosted the Polish youth championship; the harbour has concrete pontoons, a boat shed and a slipway.

History and achievements
- 1933On 18 August the founding meeting of the Poznań Yacht Club is held
- 1934On 1 July the first harbour on Lake Kierskie opens
- 1936The club joins the Polish Sailing Association
- 1939Harbour with boat shed and room for 100 boats, 186 m of pontoons and 170 m of quays
- 1945On 8 April the first post-war board is formed; the harbour is rebuilt
- 1949–1956The club loses its independence in the state reorganisation of sport; revived in October 1956
- 1978For the club's 45th anniversary the first Optimist Silver Sail regatta is held
