Overview
Jacht Klub Morski "Gryf" goes back to the Gryf sports club founded on 30 October 1928 by the builders of Gdynia harbour – the first sports club in the town. It brings together offshore sailors from the Gdynia yacht basin and keeps its own fleet of training and cruiser-racer yachts, among them Bonito 9s, a Janmor 33 and the wooden Orion, which turned 90 in 2026. Since 1949 Gryf has run the overnight Gdynia – Władysławowo – Gdynia race (ORC and KWR), and since 1990 a single-handed race.
