Overview
Bergens Seilforening was founded in 1872 and is among Norway's oldest sailing clubs. It is based in Kviturspollen at Hjellestad south of Bergen, near Flesland airport, with a clubhouse, harbour, winter storage ashore and under cover, and a mast shed. The racing programme runs from Neglespretten in January and Isbjørnseilasen in March to Huftarøy Rundt, the national double-handed championship and Bergen Race Weekend, with series racing for cruiser-racers and Knarrs through the summer. Juniors sail Optimist, ILCA and RS Feva, and the club races J/70s in the youth league and the Norwegian Sailing League.
