Overview
Asker Seilforening has its clubhouse at Blakstadtangen near Vettre and a sailing centre on Børsholmen in Asker. It was founded as Blakstad Seilforening in 1932 by a group of 11–12-year-olds and took the name Asker Seilforening in 1966. The club's own boat is the Andunge, a three-person keelboat that the young sailors on Børsholmen had designed in the 1940s; the Andunge national championship is sailed off Børsholmen every year. The club also runs Askeroptimisten, one of the largest dinghy regattas in the Oslofjord, and the cruising race Oslofjorden Rundt, and has an active keelboat fleet with regular evening races.
