Overview
Arendals Seilforening was founded on 12 December 1878 after a successful race for pleasure and working boats in Arendal, and was the third sailing club in Norway. Since 1938 it has been based on Brattholmen in Rævesandsfjorden, with the Seilerhytta clubhouse, guest pontoon, kiosk and wood-fired sauna in the middle of the skerries. The cruising group runs Tromøya Rundt in June and the two-handed Tromøy 2Star race in September, and there are club series and a club championship through the season. The club has a BB11 fleet, sailing courses for youth and adults, and a board group with windsurf boards, wing foils and SUPs to borrow.
