Overview
Watersportvereniging Hoorn was founded on 10 June 1932 and has its harbour and clubhouse De Loods by the Julianapark, looking out on the Hoofdtoren and five minutes' walk from Hoorn's old town. The harbour has 180 berths plus a visitors' pontoon. The club runs a CWO youth sailing school and a race squad, adaptive sailing in Hansa 303s (Sailability Hoorn), and coastal and sloep rowing. Every winter it runs a keelboat series on the Hoornse Hop and in summer the Zuiderzee Combi youth regatta; in 2026 it hosted the Dutch open ILCA championship.
