Overview
The Koninklijke Watersport Vereniging De Kaag was founded in 1910 to run sailing and rowing races on the Kagerplassen and now has about 1,600 members: racing sailors, cruising sailors, motorboaters and sloep rowers. It has three harbours in Warmond and at the thatched Kaagsociëteit clubhouse, with 450 berths and many dry places. Since 1918 the club has hosted the Kaagweek, one of the best-known sailing weeks in the country, plus the Voorkaag, winter races and the Combi Kaag for juniors. Rowers race sloeps, gigs and whalers and run the Kaagrace and the Jopperace; members can hire Valk and Yngling keelboats.
