Overview
Pilsētas jahtklubs (City Yacht Club) is a public-benefit association that runs a large yacht marina on Ķīpsala, on the Daugava directly opposite Old Riga, and a children's sailing school. The school runs all year for ages 8 to 15 in Winner Optimists, with a separate racing squad in summer. The club teaches skipper courses in Latvian and Russian and closes the season with the Riga Bell Buoy Cup, a race from the club out to the Gulf of Riga landfall buoy and back.
