Overview
Tržaški pomorski klub Sirena – Club Nautico Triestino Sirena is the sailing club of Trieste's Slovene community: founded in 1924, dissolved under Fascism in 1927 and re-founded in 1976–77, it has since had its sailing base on the Viale Miramare at Barcola. It has about five hundred members, many of them young racers in Optimist, ILCA and 420; the club runs a sailing school and regattas such as the Adriatic International Optimist Meeting, and has a sport-fishing section too. It holds the CONI Gold Star for sporting merit.
