Overview
The Società Triestina della Vela has been sailing from the heart of the Sacchetta, the small harbour on Trieste's waterfront, since 1923. It has about six hundred members, many of whom help as volunteers at races: in 2026 the club runs fifteen regattas for dinghies and keelboats, from the Coppa Bongo for Finns to the season-closing race for all dinghies at the end of October, plus the Coppa del Commodoro for classic yachts. The clubhouse has a gym, athletes' room, panoramic restaurant, slipway and workshop, and the racing section runs Optimist, ILCA, 420, 29er, offshore and masters squads.
