Overview
Circolo Vela Torbole was founded on 23 June 1964 and sits on the Conca d'Oro lakefront at the north-east corner of Lake Garda, on land made from the spoil of the Adige–Garda tunnel. Since gaining FIV recognition in 1967 it has run world, European and Italian championships for Olympic classes, one-designs, dinghies and even Formula 40 multihulls, and many Olympic champions have trained here. Today it hosts events such as the Halloween Cup for Optimists, the Lupo Cup for 420s and 29er, WASZP, Dragon and 69F racing; in 2025 it ran the J/70 Mixed Plus Worlds. It has a sailing school for children and adults, a restaurant and facilities for visiting training squads.
