Overview
Circolo Canottieri Aniene was founded in 1892 on the banks of the Tiber in Rome and since the 1950s has been based at the Acqua Acetosa, on the riverside north of the centre. Rowing remains at the heart of the club: its crews have won Olympic medals from 1932 onwards, and canoeing, swimming and other sports have grown up alongside. In 2002 it became the first sports club to receive the CONI Golden Collar. It runs rowing and canoe courses for young people and adults and also has a sailing section.
