Overview

Canottieri Ticino is Pavia's oldest rowing club: founded in 1873 as the Battellieri del Ticino, it was rebuilt after the war on the river's right bank above the Ponte della Libertà, on a 10-hectare site in the Ticino Park. Since the 1960s canoeing has replaced rowing: the club has won more than 50 Italian titles, holds the CONI Gold Star and has run the 42 km Vigevano–Pavia canoe marathon since 1968, which has hosted a European championship and a World Cup. There are kayak courses for children from age 7 and for adults, tennis, a pool and summer camps.
