Overview
Neretvanski Gusar Rowing Club was founded in 1968 in Metković on the Neretva, and first rowed in January 1969 in four retired boats brought from Split. Since 1970 the club has run the Neretva Regatta, the oldest rowing event in Metković, as well as the Neretva Open, and it has a rowing school for children from 10 and for adult beginners. The flat water of the Neretva allows year-round training; the club topped the Dalmatian Mini Cup three years running and helped organise the 2018 European and 2024 world canoe-marathon championships in Metković.
