Overview
Chania Sailing Club is based in the restored Neorio Moro, the easternmost of the Venetian shipsheds on Chania's old harbour. It was founded in 1990 as the "Chania Sailing Lodge" by offshore sailors and took its present name in 1993. It teaches children in Optimists and Lasers, runs an offshore school leading to the sailing licence with practical sessions from the Souda nautical centre, and races its own J/24 in the national class championship. The shipshed also hosts exhibitions and cultural events.
