Overview
Upper Thames Rowing Club was founded in 1963 on the Henley Reach of the Thames, on the site of the old Henley Regatta boom sheds about 500 m from the regatta finish. It was set up as a centre where the best oarsmen from the Upper Thames clubs could row together in competitive crews, and it has entered at least one crew at Henley Royal Regatta every year since 1964. The boathouse holds a fleet of eights, fours, pairs and sculls. Upstairs there is a gym overlooking the river, and visiting crews can arrange training camps. The club runs the Upper Thames Autumn Head, and its riverside lawn and bar are open to the public during Henley Royal Regatta.
